Antonio Villanueva was born in Toledo in 1940,where he spent his childhood. He was introduced to painting through the artist Toledano. While working as an apprentice he produced his first painting. Later after, moving to Madrid, he studied telecommunication to become an engineer. He wanted to earn enough to move to Paris to pursue a career as a painter.

His first exhibition was in Paris for the «Salon des jeunes peintres» in 1962. Many others exhibitions followed in Ibiza, New-York, Munich, London, Madrid, Los Angeles.

Nowadays, he is appreciated for his unique style between abstract and figurative. He lives in Ibiza where he finds inspiration for his paintings.
